Hydrogen is the simplest element known to man. Each atom of hydrogen has only one proton. It is also the most plentiful gas in the universe. Stars are made primarily of hydrogen.
example:The sun is basically a giant ball of hydrogen and helium gases.

Similar to gasoline, it is a method to store energy. Hydrogen stores energy that can be harnessed by fuel cells. Just like gasoline’s energy can be harnessed by engines like the ones in cars. Gasoline can be refined from crude oil that comes from the ground. We have to have energy already to make the hydrogen. So, it is not free and comes at a steep price. But it can have zero emissions if the original energy to make the hydrogen was harnessed by some clean energy and no, there’s no such thing as clean coal.
