If you visit any video about oil and gas, there are arabs commenting using foul language, ranting about their oil and riches but not one of them visits an electric car video as they know it is their demise. Build it.

In Australia you cannot register an electric car.The taxes paid for fossil fuels are one of the highest in the world .
One of the reasons The Australian government had a 22 billion suplus. Not bad for a country of only 21 million.

Well, there is still one downside at this time: the batteries. Li-Ion batteries may be quite environmentally friendly, but they are sensitive to heat and damage. You all know the exploded laptops, and those were just small batteries. Contradictory as it may seem, electric cars with these batteries can still explode or catch fire. The power density is also not yet that impressive. It’s a nice start, but we need to search for safer and more efficient storage for electricity.

America do not care about the EV, they have all there oil wells capped. So when the rest of the world runs out they can be more world dominant and basically tell everyone else to fuuck off.

There’s at least one problem with electric cars. If everyone drove them, at 5 PM when they got home from work, everyone would plug-in and charge. There would be an unbelievable load on the power grid as that time of day is peak already. Power plants would have to upgrade tremendously and that would in turn be charged back to us. Nuclear power seems to be the only choice, if they can put them underground.

Maybe I keep seeing the glass 1/2 empty. =)
Only downfall is our battery/fuel cell recycling and waste programs ****. For right now, I am putting an HHO system on my gas guzzler.
I agree that the American automakers should have kept supporting the electric car, instead of killing it in favor of building giant POS like EXCURSIONS, EXPEDITIONS, etc. Their sales volume would have royally screwed Toyota for a LONG time. I bet those assholes are next in line wanting to be bailed out.

I agree. Heads out of their ***** would be nice.
At least Tesla Motors has a good idea.. GM, Ford, and all of the other ‘major’ auto manufacturers are headed for a serious crash if they don’t follow the examples set by Tesla and ZAP.
I will never buy another fossil fuel burning car in my lifetime. Ever.

There is always a waste byproduct from this. More than 50% of energy generated in the US is still derived from coal. We need to start from the ground up on renewal sources of energy. Govt needs to take its head out of its ***.
October 24th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
still a EL powerd car and the EL power is from coal power.. so its just a little better then a normal car.. we need ZERO POINT ENERGY OUT NOW!,

October 27th, 2008 at 10:42 am
dont bring the global warming hoax into it, we want to step outside their whole profit monopoly of the ‘elites’ cough (fuck jp morgan) cough.
free ways of producing electricity is the answer. for that, you have to go back to tesla’s work.
October 30th, 2008 at 4:35 am
That is one **** car.

Embrace change people! There is no downside to electric cars, and less pollution and recycling etc. it brings oppertunities and rewards at many levels.
America is spinning out of control politically and culturally, you need to check yourselves and open your minds,
October 30th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Now, if we can only make them affordable.
November 1st, 2008 at 9:49 am
i bet the oil companies will shut this down and you won’t hear about the Tesla car again, as if it never happened.

As for the smog in china the people don’t care, as in comminust people, who are in control of the government. OH and WE are the cause of that pollution! WHY?! BECAUSE, we… well not me, but you people decide to buy Chinese products that are made by chinese slaves in polution making factories that give the people around those areas lung problems after living there for 10 years. ANYWAYS, as soon as those factories stop there the polution will stop there & go away almost instantly.

Eating is inevitable. My point is responsible moderation, but most attitudes are, who cares if it saves a buck , or euro. Second note diesel cars arnt bad but watch the next semi pull from a stop, it’s as black as a small tire fire. I can see it now “WELCOME TO THE HYBRYD SEMI SHOW FOLKS” regenerative braking fully loaded could recharge A TRUCK LOAD of batteries. BTW love the car.
November 5th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
but inevitable.
November 7th, 2008 at 12:20 am
ya but unlike the cars the volcano is natural it is supposed to happen. cars and humans just add to the pollution. if we keep this up, some people may not care about animals or what ever, but when you got smog like china, and there is no more hockey cuz you cant breathe very well then people will care
November 10th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Fuck global warming. I know that it’s not just US who are to blame, I simply want to drive an electric car because I don’t like being dependent on gas… we need to change it up, use ALL the different sources of energy. The only reason we aren’t now is cuz the oil companies have a monopoly… but rich ppl will change that soon enough!
November 11th, 2008 at 4:11 am
fuck you all. we were meant to be doomed. study dance and shut the **** up about the planet already.
